The Full Story
On January 1st, 2021, founding director, Felicity DiPette, began working with David Docusen and her current board members to form a nonprofit that goes beyond crisis response. They saw how COVID highlighted the issues of poverty that had always been in Manassas and sought to be part of a long-term solution.
After months of research, professional analysis, and hearing from the underserved community, Legacy Impact moved into its first initiative, English as a Second Language Classes in the underprivileged neighborhood. Legacy Impact is a nonprofit that holistically empowers families to rewrite their narratives from poverty to possibility. We consider the areas of housing, employment, education, and health as we collaborate with other organizations to invest in our neighborhoods.
Over the years, new programs have formed under each pillar of impact as a result of conversations and relationships that have been built in the community.

Our heart is to work with the community, not for the community. Our heart is to empower and not enable. Our heart is to educate, resource, and connect individuals so that they can make the impact in their community!
